Yinka Ilori’s AAMI AAMI TRAY pays homage to the sun and all the goodness that it brings.

In the Yoruba language “aami aami” directly translates to “dot dot” – a symbolism of the sun’s circular shape – yellow dots shine bright within the tray’s lively pattern while serotonin-inducing orange rays are spread throughout to represent the sun’s powerful beams. Nostalgia and childhood are important themes for Yinka’s creativity, re-interpreting past happy moments and experiences into artworks. The tray is one item that always reminds Yinka of his childhood, this radiating design is a piece that can be left around the kitchen and become artwork in its own right.
