A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Chairman exhibition, shared in the stories behind the chairs, and made the event a celebration of creativity, community and connection.
Celebrating the publication of Yinka Ilori’s first monograph, Chairman, the exhibition brought together a selection of the artist’s most significant chairs, each carrying stories of memory, community and transformation.
Presented at the Walter Sickert Community Centre, next to the estate where Ilori grew up, the exhibition marked a homecoming to the place where many of his earliest ideas were formed.
