Honouring the richness of life, history and storytelling.

Infused with maximalist energy, Yinka Ilori’s IJO CUSHION is a storytelling piece that will bring colour, depth and pattern into your home.

In celebration of London’s rich history and vibrant diversity, Yinka chose to title this artwork “ijo”, meaning “dance” in the language of Yoruba. Looking to the Royal Docks for inspiration, the artwork tells the story of the deliveries of Caribbean rum, coffee, sugarcane, tobacco and tropical fruit that would arrive by ship into the docks. This cultural exchange is a reminder of what is so special about London and its residents. Imbued with a sense of joy, take a moment to notice the abstract pineapples within the artwork’s clashing colours and striking shapes.

Made in Portugal from more sustainable recycled polyester, this expertly woven-jacquard cushion cover is designed with a zip fastening and includes a filled cushion. Complete the set with our EREAAMI AAMIODODO and OMI cushions.
